Rainy Days and Mondays

This rainy Monday Korban started kindergarten.

It was one of the worst days for me. I just knew something would go wrong and well it kind of did.
The week before school started Korban went and met with his teacher to do his testing. He wasn't a fan of it at all. He didn't want to use a pencil or write. He did count and use his sounds. I also let his teacher know that if he gets uncomfortable or worried then he will leave. She reassured me that he would be okay.
Well Monday at high noon (school gets out at 1205) came and I got the feeling that I needed to run to the school. So I ran out the door and went. I found Korban standing on the sidewalk in front of the school all by himself. I went to him and asked him what he was doing and he let me know that he was waiting for me to pick him up. I reminded him that he was taking the bus. I walked him over to his teacher to let her know that he was in front of the school and she was as shocked as I was. (I in NO way blame her! Korban just does his own thing) Needless to say, he took the bus home and I was a wreck the entire time. But, he made it home!
Today he did well. He rode the bus to and from school. He even decided to use a crayon to write the letter K!...

We've only just begun.....

TO LIIIIVVVVVE!!!! White lace and promises, a kiss for luck and i'm on my waaaaaaayyy..

Honestly, how many of you started to sing that Carpenters song? BE HONEST!!!
Week one is over!!! At least for the girls and El.
Korban starts Monday. I am really hoping that Monday morning he will tell me that he isn't ready for school and wants to stay home. I can't believe I have become that mom who wants her kids to stay home. Years ago I was dying by the end of summer and I was counting down the days. But I can say that this year SUCKS! I miss my kids already so much!

This is Sam on her first day of 1st grade...
Now look at her.. JR HIGH!
Morgan 1st day of Kindergarten
Kylah first day of Kindergarten
Here is Morgan, Emer and Kylah. Morgan and Ky are in 5th and Emer is in 2nd.... WOWI just wanted to post some pics of the older girls to see a comparison on what they looked like then and now.. They are all still missing some teeth! :)

flying...

Time is flying! My kids start school on Monday. El starts on Wednesday. Where did this summer go?
O RIGHT! We were everywhere..
I am so grateful that we were able to do so many things together this summer. It seems like El worked harder than ever (and he didn't even have a job). He has lost a tun of weight. He just shaved his face and he has a bony chin... I am pretty sure that he isn't supposed to loose all of this weight without me. But, I guess it is okay since he has really be working out hard!
I took Samantha to Jr. High orientation on Friday. Can I just say that I am really not excited to have a child in Jr. High. It seems like yesterday I was holding this little person and freaking out that I would break her. But now she is this 5'6" tall supermodel!!! She is so tall and so skinny. Before long (about a week or so) she will be taller than I am... BOO HOO!
I took Emer, Morgan and Kylah all to their classes to meet their teachers and get the lay of the laws for each class. Luckily I like all of their teachers and I am sure they will all have such a great year! I am mostly looking forward to seeing them all grow with their talents in academics.
I take Korban in for testing on Monday. I am really not sure how he will do. He is so stubborn and I am just fretting how he will do. I am super glad that I kept him home last year. I am hoping that will make the difference for him!
Gannon will be sad that all of the kids will be gone for the day. But maybe he will be okay with it, once he realizes that he won't have to share a computer with the kids all day.. That just might make him happy.
Helam will go crazy without Kylah. She is his little mother! He clings to her like no other. I will also miss her during the day, because with her, I can get some projects done!
It makes me sad to think all of my family is just growing so fast. I wish I could keep them all little Kindergartners forever...

And then there were 2...

School is fastly approaching.. Where did this summer go? We have been running around like chickens without heads.. Samantha starts Jr. High (WHAT?) on the 20th, the other girls start back on the 23rd, Korban starts on Sept 1st...
I am so excited for all of the kids to be able to go to school and have a great time. I think they are ready too.. But, it makes me sad to think that I will only have 2 at home. What will we do??

Some big news is that El went to SLCC to talk to them about how many credits he could carry over if he were to go back, and they told him that he gets all of them! SO, he only needs to take two classes and then he will have his Associates.. That is so awesome! He applied that day and we should hear back anytime if he gets to start. So if he does, then he will start of the 25th.. Then his hopes are to transfer to a University to get his Bachelors. He isn't sure what he wants to major in so I will have to keep that updated.

Now the question is, should I go?? I think that if I were to go, then I would just take a couple of classes online and just work slowly.. I'm not sure if that is something that I want to do. If you have any suggestions please feel free to comment!

That is really what is going on with life here. I am just hoping that we can go to the 240 once more before school starts and get some last minute fun in!!!
