Mr. Manners

Helam is not a talker. Well, if you call a whole lot of blabber taking then I guess you could say he is. He used to say meeemeee (mommy) and has decided to cut that one out of the vocab. So he only says a few things like oottoo, ouch, bubbles and dada. Today while Korban was saying wee, he decided to chime in.

He just started this, and I decided not to miss the opportunity and I was able record it (whew). Now I have proof that he can talk and if he decides to stop talking all together I am going to extort him for all of his cuteness with this video.
O.. And El buzzed Helam's head... Now, I like to refer to him as Zebra Boy.

road trippin

On Thursday El and I started the long haul with my cousin Bryan to Indiana... WHY Indiana you ask, well to make a long story short (at least I hope to) we drove Bryan there to pick up a car.. UGH! 51 hours of drive time and about 14 hours of sleep the entire time and being gone from my kids from 7:30 am on Thursday til 10:00 am today (Sunday). It was tiring, and to write this post is taking it out of me.. BUT, i'm puttin my shoulder to the wheel!

We traveled from Utah to Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky to Indiana! WOOZERS! Prior to this trip I have been to Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico and Colorado.. SO, i'm not well traveled.. But this was such an eye opener to this Country that we live in! I LOVED Nebraska!!! The smell was wonderful and the people that I met were so fantastic! The tiny part of Iowa that I saw was flooded, but still very green! I could go forever without having to travel back to Missouri. Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty state, but the major cities that we traveled through were scary! I also LOVED Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana! They were all so GREEN and beautiful! I have decided the heck with the desert, I'M moving to Kentucky! Well not really, but I just fell in love with it!

Here are a few little observations about my trip:
*Hitchhiking is still in practice AND against the law! I saw a couple of people trying to hitch a ride, and more than a couple signs that were telling you it was a NO NO!
*Utah is so LAX when it comes to speeding in "work zones". I think it was in Nebraska I read a sign that said "if you hit a worker in a zone, $10,000.00 fine and LOSS of license". And in Illinois a sign that said "workers hit in zone = $10,000.00 fine and 14 years in prison" I told El that I think I would rather loose my license!
*CORN is everywhere!!!!
*Humidity causes major pimples! Seriously, am I 16???
*Humidity and the heat ='s sweaty boys!!! EEEWWWW!
*The smell of Indiana and Kentucky is WONDERFUL! To me it smelled like eucalyptus and peppermint.
*I'm not sure that the Prophet Joseph Smith knew what he was saying when Zion would be built in Missouri... (I have NO doubt that he knows what he is saying, but I WAS TERRIFIED of Missouri!)

Here is a little slide show of some pictures! It was a great trip and our Country is BEAUTIFUL!!!
I couldn't find a great song to put with the show, so just sing whatever song you would like in your head!

Daddies...

Here is to all of the daddies out there.. I know that I have had my fair share of them. I am blessed to have a Dad who loves me and my kids, a Grandpa who loved me so much and it is sad that I don't remember much about him, and a Grandpa who married my Grandma and has been a true hero to me.Here is my dad with 5 of the 7.. Who knows where Samantha and Emer are, but I'm glad I have this picture... My Dad is so funny with kids. He just loves them to death!
This is my Grandpa Roy. He passed away when I was 3 years old. I don't remember much about him, but I do remember sitting in my highchair and he would read me the funnies.. He would also play his ukulele and sing to me... I can't wait to be able to sit with him and talk about all that I want to know...

This is my Gramps! He is my hero!!! I love him so much! He has been my daddy when I didn't have one. He is such a special person who has such great love in his heart.. I am so grateful that he married my Grams... I can't imagine my life without him!

And to my sweet husband! He is the greatest dad... He took on my 3 as his own. They are just as much his as the other 4.. Who in the world besides my gramps would do that??? I love him dearly....

Changes... Have I already used this title?

Where to begin... I'm not even sure I want to write this post. Blogging just doesn't seem a top priority..
RECAP: El and I had our 8th anniversary. It has been an amazing 8 years. I don't have any of our wedding pictures scanned in, but I will do that one day. This is what is sad, this is the most recent picture of El and I together, and it was taken September 2009. At least I didn't post in one from 04... That is what happens when you have a million kids and you or your husband are the ones taking all of the pictures..

The kids had their last day of school on June 4th. They were all glad to be done so they could start their summer vacation. But it really hasn't seemed like summer. The weather has been yucky..
We just got home from a camping trip with my Mom and family and it rained the entire time. YUCK.. So, I didn't take any pictures. Mostly because I was lazy... SHOCKER!!!!!!!! We took our travel trailer out for its maiden voyage. It was great.. There is nothing like being hunkered down in your camping trailer while the rain in pouring. And the best part, we have a furnace so I stayed warm!

Onto the changes.. Our house is due to be finally sold in this next week. That is a huge relief. We are so ready to be all moved out of there and not have to deal with the stress of our house selling.. :)
*quick story* In December of last year, I told El that I had a really strong feeling that he was going to be laid off from his job. Well nothing happened, and he probed around and he didn't hear of any layoffs so it was all good. Then in March, he got a call from his boss about how their company is doing a re-organization. So, El and I went to the temple and we were reassured that whatever happens, happens and to just be prepared. So that is what we have been doing. We have been preparing. Last week he got the news that he is going to be laid off and that this Friday is going to be his last day. WE are not worried! So please don't be concerned for us. We have a plan and we are going with it. (more on that to come later)
I just wanted to put it down that I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves me and my family so much.. We are truly blessed and we know that as long as we do what we are supposed to do, he will take care of us...
